In accordance with Article XV, I am exercising my right as the Speaker of the People to decree that adhering to Roberts Rules of Order for the 2022 Speaker of the People election is not necessary, and therefore the procedure for the 2022 Speaker of the People election will proceed as follows. Nominations will open on February 7, 2022, and will close February 21, 2022, at 11:59pm EST. Voting will begin on February 22, 2022, and will end on February 27, 2022, at 11:59pm EST. At that time, the candidate who has received the greatest number of votes will become the 2022 Speaker of the People. The votes will be accessible at https://www.newathensgov.org/parliament in the Open Votes section.
